Coeur d’Alene Sweethearts Ball Continues Supporting Camp Journey
Jacob Bonwell of ATC Manufacturing, announced that for the eighth year in a row, Coeur d’Alene will host the Sweethearts’ Ball, which celebrates the lives of children in the greater northwest who battle cancer related illnesses. Last year, The Sweethearts’ Ball raised $50,000 for Camp Journey.
Every Spring The Sweethearts’ Ball brings together some of Coeur d’Alene and our surrounding area’s most generous benefactors to share a night full of love, compassion, and excitement. The Sweethearts’ Ball is a great way to celebrate life, while making a difference in the lives of cancer patients and survivors in Idaho, Washington, Montana and Oregon. The mission is to relieve the financial pressures that so many families face, by creating a major funding vehicle that provides support for Camp Journey.
Camp Journey is a camp providing a community of hope for children and their families touched by cancer. When dealing with childhood cancer, it can sometimes make “just being a kid” seem out of reach, and out of scope for the whole family.
At Camp Journey, our goal is to change that perception and that reality. In this nurturing, medically supervised home-away-from-home, young cancer patients and survivors can leave their worries behind for one magical week and immerse themselves in a fun-filled outdoor camp experience tailored expressly to their needs. Meanwhile, their families and caregivers can rest easy, knowing that our trained oncology staff is on-site 24/7.
Over the last 7 years the Sweethearts’ Ball has been able to contribute over $320,000 and has helped send over 800 children to Camp Journey free of cost to them and their families. With the support and kindness of the whole community, Camp Journey can continue to bring such special kids the most amazing week of their lives! Please join us for an exciting night with a wonderful Silent Auction, Live Auction, Raffle Prizes and Guest Speakers—accompanied by a delightful dinner, live music, DJ and dancing. The 8th annual Sweethearts’ Ball will be on March 28th, 2020 at 5:00pm.
