Coeur Terre Development: A New Chapter for Coeur d’Alene

We are thrilled to share that the Coeur d’Alene City Council approved the annexation of Coeur Terre, a 440-acre mixed-use development on the western edge of Coeur d’Alene. After a decade of planning, this annexation marks a significant milestone for our subsidiary company, Kootenai County Land Company.

Aligning with the City of Coeur d’Alene’s comprehensive plan, adopted in 2022, Kootenai County Land Company held numerous meetings with 13 agencies, 26 departments, multiple special interest groups, as well as neighborhoods and individuals. This collaborative approach has been essential in crafting a well-planned development.

Coeur Terre will feature up to 2,800 housing units, businesses, shops, restaurants, 18 acres of public parks, a central landscape corridor, over 4 miles of trails, and land designated for two public schools. The development aims to provide a high quality of life for residents while supporting local economic growth.

With a buildout period of 20-30 years, Coeur Terre is committed to offering a mix of housing types including deed-restricted professional workforce. Additionally, a new police substation will be established to enhance safety by keeping officers in the community.

As part of the Lakeside Companies family, Kootenai County Land Company is excited to see the vision of Coeur Terre come to life in the years to come and making a positive impact on the community.

Stay tuned for more updates on the Coeur Terre development and thank you for your continued support.

Continuing Support for Ronald McDonald House

Architerra, and Zi Spa (both Lakeside companies) attended the SK Ball on September 9th. The SK Ball is an annual fundraiser by Ronald McDonald House of the Inland Northwest. Architerra was an event sponsor and Andi B. of Zi Spa won the coveted bull riding competition and belt buckle.

Sponsorship of the event by Architerra was a continuation of support for RMCH of the Inland Northwest. Last year, Architerra donated $50,000 to Ronald McDonald House to help support the capital campaign for Northern Idaho House – a new building that opened in March 2020. Prior to this expansion, an average of fourteen families a day were on our waiting list for somewhere to stay while their children received medical treatment.

Currently, RMHC can house 64 families a night in three houses; however ongoing support is still needed. Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Inland Northwest provides temporary lodging, social and emotional support, at no charge, for families of children accessing medical services. The Spokane area is a premier medical destination and families face difficult decisions as many are unable to pay for a hotel. Instead, they have to sleep in their cars, sleep in hospital waiting rooms, or leave their hospitalized infant or child to travel home. More than half face incredible financial hardships due to loss of income(s) and mounting medical bills.

Architerra, Zi Spa, and Lakeside will continue to support this important cause. To donate or get involved, visit their site:

Article: Coeur Terre Receives Unanimous Approval

On Tuesday, October 11, the City of Coeur d’Alene Planning Commission met for a public hearing with the Kootenai County Land Company and the public to discuss the annexation and zoning of the Coeur Terre Master Plan Development. The commission forwarded a unanimous recommendation of approval to City Council, stating that Coeur Terre is well planned and would ‘provide much-needed housing in an appropriate area targeted for growth.’

The plan calls for a variety housing units, business space, shops, restaurants, 18 acres of public parks, 4 miles of trails, and land for two public schools.  Working with community organizations, getting public feedback, and partnering with the city to understand future needs for the Coeur d’Alene area has led to an annexation application the Kootenai County Land Company is proud to submit and eager to continue to bring to fruition.

The Coeur d’Alene Press covered the hearing in an extensive story. Read the full article here.
