John Hemmingson

John Hemmingson

Founder/Chairman

John is Lakeside’s founder. His extensive business experience includes start-ups, divestitures, mergers, public offerings and restructurings. John cares deeply about the success of the Inland Northwest he calls home and founded Lakeside to build a stronger community by investing in businesses poised to add quality jobs and value in the Spokane and Couer d’Alene area.

He sits on several boards of companies in which Lakeside has an investment. John is also a member of the Board of Trustees for Gonzaga University, a member of the Advisory Board for the Boys & Girls Club of Spokane, and serves as the Chairman of Spokane Neighborhood Action Programs (SNAP).

John earned his associates degree in Business Administration from National American University in 1974 and is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Owner/President Management Program. John currently resides in Liberty Lake, Washington.

Steve Helmbrecht

Steven M. Helmbrecht

Chief Executive Officer

Steve brings over 25 years of business experience to the company including financial management and reporting, equity and debt offerings, mergers and acquisitions, international sales and operations, start-ups, strategic planning and building high-performance teams.

Previously, Steve was Executive Vice President and CFO of Itron, Inc. (NASDAQ: ITRI), a global technology and services company providing solutions for electricity, gas and water utilities to help them measure, manage and analyze energy and water. He has a Master of Taxation from the University of Denver and a BA in Business Administration (Accounting) from the University of Washington.

Steve is an active community leader who has served on a variety of nonprofit boards primarily in the areas of education, economic development and international trade. Currently he serves on the Board of Regents of Gonzaga University, the boards of the Rypien Foundation, Big Table and Urbanova, and the Boards of Directors of Washington Trust Bank and W.T.B. Financial Corporation.

Steve and his wife Theresa have two children, Lauren and Brett.

 

Jerry Reed

Chief Financial Officer

Jerry brings over 20 years’ accounting, financial and management experience to the company. At Lakeside he is responsible for the financial oversight of Lakeside and its portfolio of companies and assets. Additionally, he is involved in strategic planning, deal analysis, due diligence and implementation of all new investments. Previously, he was with Itron, Inc. (NASDAQ: ITRI), a global technology and services company providing solutions for electricity, gas and water utilities to help them measure, manage and analyze energy and water, where he held several positions including Director of Internal Reporting & International Controller.

He holds a MBA from Gonzaga University and a BS in Accounting from the University of Idaho.

Jerry is actively involved in the community, currently serving on the Dean’s Business Forum Board for Gonzaga University’s School of Business Administration.

Jerry and his wife Jacki have one child, Sydnee.

Melissa Wells

President

In addition to running day-to-day operations, Melissa oversees the development and management of both high-end residential and commercial properties, completes financial analyses to assess company viability and administers community outreach for Lakeside’s Chairman. Melissa brings over 12 years of experience in the financial industry and a wealth of leadership to the Lakeside management team.

Melissa holds her real estate license in the state of Idaho and is a member of the National Association of Realtors.

Melissa earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, Cum Laude, from Arizona State University.

Steve Cease

Senior Vice-President of Business Development

Steve Cease is Senior Vice President, Business Development of Lakeside.

Previously, he was Global Engineering Director Cytec Industries (NYSE: CYT), a global specialty materials company providing technology solutions.

Steve holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University and executive education from Columbia University.

Steve brings 30 years of industry expertise in Business, Technology and Operational leadership roles, including major Mergers and Acquisitions.

Kris Moore

Senior Vice-President of Business Development

Kris has a diverse background in international sales, scalable operations, contract negotiation and intellectual property. At Lakeside he is focused on qualifying new opportunities and late stage capital investments. Previously, he was Director of Business Development and Intellectual Property Strategy with Microsoft (NYSE: MSFT), a global software, services and devices company providing technology solutions, where he also excelled in OEM sales, Windows Finance and Business Management.

He holds a BA in Communications with emphasis in International Relations from University of Southern California.

Kris is involved in the Seattle community where he actively supports development of the College Success Foundation and volunteers at St. Joseph School.

Angie Rothrock

Vice-President

Having been with the company for over thirteen years, Angie is continually called upon to assist and manage new ventures. Her diverse project portfolio includes spearheading successful virtual education programs, online store development, e-learning, day-spa and medical office management, multi-media and sales. Currently, Angie oversees Lakeside’s commercial real estate properties located in Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls and Kansas City. She also oversees Lakeside marketing initiatives, Zi Spa, and numerous philanthropic efforts throughout our community.

Angie graduated with honors from Washington State University, earning her BA in Communications.

Ross Jordan

Agriculture Operations Manager

Ross has managed our growing farm portfolio since its inception. Along with the management of the day-to-day operation on farms, Ross has been focused on the financial performance of the farm by implementing multiple cost saving measures within the operation, but also is committed to farming practices that promote long-term sustainability of the land.  He is the fourth generation in his farm family and previously was employed as a market analyst with Ambassador Programs.

He graduated from Washington State University with a BA in Business Administration / Management Information Systems in 2002. He also received a Masters certificate from University of Idaho in Geographic Information Systems.

Ross is currently living in the Cheney area with his wife Erin and four kids Estelle, Gracelyn, Emmett, and Sullivan.

Breanna Regalado

Breanna Regalado

Senior Accountant

Breanna is a Senior Accountant at Lakeside. She handles the day-to-day accounting operations for the company, including accounts payable and receivable, fixed asset management, reconciliations, and reporting and tracking of financial information.

Previously, she was with Openeye, a global technology company providing solutions for surveillance and loss prevention through the design and manufacture of digital video recorders and surveillance equipment for the security industry, where she held the position of Accounts Payable and Accounting Analyst.

She graduated Cum Laude, with a BA in Accounting, from Whitworth University. She stays actively involved with her community through her home church.

Breanna and her husband, Joseph Regalado, live in the North Spokane area.

Claudio Hersy

Claudia Hersey

Executive Administrator

Claudia is Lakeside’s Executive Administrator. Previously, she was executive assistant to the Executive Vice President and CFO, and to the Vice President of Investor Relations, of Itron, Inc. (NASDAQ: ITRI), a global technology and services company. She was also Secretary to the Audit and Finance Committee of the Board of Directors at Itron.

Claudia has 40 years of administrative experience supporting executive management teams in corporate finance, tax, treasury, internal audit, external reporting, internal reporting, and investor relations. She holds an Associate of Arts Degree – English Major, from Bellevue Community College, Bellevue, WA.

Claudia and her husband Paul each have two children, six grandchildren, and one expensive Scottish Terrier named Bentley.

In 1974, Tom founded a business management firm that today serves the interests of a diverse range of businesses, including funeral homes located in seven Midwestern states. As an entrepreneur, he has been involved in several start-up ventures, hospitality concerns and real estate developments.
